The Generational Curse

-A false doctrine

The church meeting has just finished and the guest preacher began to pray for the congregation and to rebuke out of them all ‘the generational curses’ that they carry in their lives; curse of alcoholism, curse of diseases, curses of witchcraft, prostitution, homosexuality, etc. Isn’t this a common practice in some churches in our time? But, is this a biblical or anti-biblical doctrine? In this writing you will find an answer to this.

How often we see pastors, lay preachers, and even Christian singers (like rappers who lack a bit of Bible knowledge) in our churches breaking generational curses on Christians attending services. I'm surprised to see how they break chains of generational curse on "believers" who have attended the service.

Generational Curses; is a doctrine that has become very popular over the past two decades (in a very strong current) for its nature of teaching as many preachers love to feel power in breaking generational courses chains that they even don’t know if they exist.

What is the generational curse?

The generational curse is a doctrine that consists in the ‘curse’ that God has placed on our ancestors because of their sins, and this curses has been passed to their children from generation to generation.

As an example let me mention that if your grandfather or great-great-grandfather was a witch or a thieve or a murderer, God placed a cursed on him and on the succeeding generations, they will be carrying on with the curse. According to this doctrine this means that if you are suffering some illness is the consequence of the curse you are carrying on. Do you understand?

Where does this doctrine come from?

Although this doctrine is based on Bible verses, these are verses that have been interpreted outside of the text carrying out a doctrinal misinterpretation. I make the clarification that many people believe in this doctrine because a quickly view in the text gives an impression of to be a right doctrine, but, it is not!

Less give a look at some of the biblical text from were these teachings area coming from and soon after I will explain the true meaning of them;

Exodus 20: (The second of the Ten Commandments)

⁴ “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. ⁵ You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me”

Exodus 34;
^“6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, ⁷ maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

Numbers 14;
^“18 The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation”

The first time we read this text has been in the laws of God, then Exodus and Numbers are only a repetition of the commandment of the law, so these words are repeated in later texts and if you have noticed they used the words "Iniquity and evil.”

And now let see to the correct meaning of writing:

-First, this law of God does not speak about ‘curse’ but about the ‘sin’ or ‘iniquity’ of the parents.

-Second, it says that God visits the ‘iniquity’ of the fathers and was also given a limit to reach up to the fourth generation.

Third, this is a word that has compliance in those who hate God; they are the rebels, unbelievers, the gentile nations of that time.

From where then we get the idea that today’s believers are under a curse? Does God curse your own children? No! God loves his children!

Now let me talk about the word used in these texts which has been used erroneously as ‘curse’.

Exodus 20:

“5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me”

- Note that clearly says ‘sin’ not ‘curse’. The word used in this text is ‘sin’, which in the Hebrew is

 עוון    עון    “âvôn âvôn”  which carry on with the meaning of; evil, guilt iniquity and  sin. Therefore what it says is, ‘that God visits the iniquity’ not that is cursing. This means that for the mistake and bad decision of parents, children bear and suffer the consequences of their mistakes not the curses.

As you may see here, never has been mentioned in the text the word ‘curse’ but rather; evil, guilt and sin. Interesting! Isn’t it? This means that what follow to the next four generations was the consequences of their parents’ sins, but if they turned to God this action will end those consequences. In the other hand you should note that this punishment was meant to be fir those who hate God it clearly stays it as ‘those who hate me’.

To understand the use of the word "curse" is worth seeing an example and its application in the following text:

Proverbs 20:

^“20 If someone curses their father or mother, their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness”

Here the Hebrew word used in the original text is  ( קלל )     (qâlal  kaw-lal')    whose meaning includes, reject, hate, abhor, and therefore he who rejects his parents his blessings are closed turning out the lamp of life leaving him walking in obscure darkness. So children, honour your father and mother which is the first commandment with promise (Exodus 20, 12 & Ephesians 6:2).

 And going back to the statement that ‘God punish the wickedness of the ancestors to the third and four generations’, let me tell you that God Himself in the Old Testament decided to create a new law to cut the ‘evil’ that was transmitted back in that time. God makes responsible to each one individually, for their sin and consequences. So, we will now see that the transferring of the consequences of the sin will not affect other but rather each one will carry his own consequences before God.

Deuteronomy 24;

^“16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin”

-So God removes the visit of the evil consequences of the fathers upon the children, saying clearly that he no longer visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children but each will pay for their own sin. Do you understand? There are no consequences of sin in the descendants or later generations.

So God in order to correct the confusion of the people of Israel, because they have had adopted a common saying among them, God spoke again through the prophet Ezekiel saying;

Ezekiel 18:

^“1 The Word of the Lord came to me: ² “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: “The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? ³ “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. ⁴ For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die. ²⁰ The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them”.

So, we can now understand God's plan and we can clearly say that "there is no generational curse" at all.  Nor in the children of God, Blessed be our God!

Doctrinal Errors:
What then are doing those preachers who preach the generational curses? Those who are constantly accusing our fellow Christians of loads of generational courses upon them, curse that they do not have at all?

I know (in the many samples I can give) a sister in Christ who suffered from severe anaemia and on one occasion one of those preachers accused her that her anaemia was the consequence of the ‘generational curse upon her’ and publicly he rebukes it ignoring that she was a new born Christian person washed with blood of Jesus.

Another believer who had disability in his legs was also accused of being paralysed as a result of ‘the generational curse’ ... and so on every issue and every disease on people becomes the point of result of the generational curse. God help us!

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you do not have any ‘curse’ in your life for Jesus Christ came to give you eternal life and he has forgiving all your sins. Also, generational curse does not exist! Please my brother and sister in the name of Jesus feel free from these wrong teachings, and from these wrong preachers who are only placing loads on people, loads that they do not have.

The scripture says;

Galatians 3:

^“13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole (the cross)”

This means that with his blood Jesus has redeemed us and cleans us from all sins. Church you are therefore free from sin and condemnation, YOU ARE FREE! What then are seeking those preachers of the generational curse? Status, Position, power over people?.. May God enlighten your understanding!

Other ramifications of the false doctrine of generational curses:

Talking about harmful ramifications of this doctrine is a very serious situation, as some preachers of this doctrine in question, have taken the role as if they were psychologists or psychiatrists to treat these people who have been dragged into this false teaching. Some also ask them to go out confessing their past sins to others to download the weight so they can be free from those chains (almost as it happen in the famous G12 movement)

                        
I have personally known cases of these and I have personally had to rebuke these people who came over me to tell me their past. I had to sit them down and explain that "the blood of Christ" has forgiven all his past, and that "we are in Christ and are a new creation, that old things are passed away and all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17 ) therefore we do not longer walk in the past garbage. Other people have fallen into depression knowing that they are bearing the  "curses" of their ancestors. And so on the list of stories is unending.

Coming to the end;
Well, my dear in Jesus Christ I hope that this letter has been a blessing to your life as it was for a mexican sister whom after hearing one of my Spanish audio messages entitled ‘The Generational Curse’ wrote to me saying; Thanks pastor for removing from me a great burden that it had been imposed to me " that sister was free By the blood of Christ! Amen.

La Pérdida de los Valores Morales

-Necedad del Corazón-

 Con el correr de los días, los meses, los años y los siglos; los valores morales primarios se han ido perdiendo y así el matrimonio se ha ido desvalorando y el ser humano ha ido cambiando su naturaleza atrayendo para sí el rechazo y la desaprobación de Dios como nos dice;

 Romanos  Capítulo 1:

“²⁶ Por esto Dios los entregó a pasiones vergonzosas; pues aun sus mujeres cambiaron el uso natural por el que es contra naturaleza, ²⁷ y de igual modo también los hombres, dejando el uso natural de la mujer, se encendieron en su lascivia unos con otros, cometiendo hechos vergonzosos hombres con hombres, y recibiendo en sí mismos la retribución debida a su extravío”

Este texto nos habla sobre el desvió del ser humano en cuanto a su relación con el sexo opuesto. Mujeres cambiaron el uso natural y de igual modo el hombre; hombres con hombres. La escritura describe estos actos como “hechos vergonzosos” vergonzosos delante de Dios y de la sociedad que aún sostiene los valores primordiales del diseño de Dios.

Pero; ¿Será que Dios se equivocó en el diseño de su creación? ¡No! Dios no se equivocó sino que el corazón del hombre se fue desviando al olvidarse de su creador y enredarse en los lazos del diablo que siempre ha buscado la destrucción de la perfecta creación.

La carta a los Romanos nos sigue diciendo en el capítulo 1;

²¹ Pues habiendo conocido a Dios, no le glorificaron como a Dios, ni le dieron gracias, sino que se envanecieron en sus razonamientos, y su necio corazón fue entenebrecido. ²² Profesando ser sabios, se hicieron necios, ²³ y cambiaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en semejanza de imagen de hombre corruptible, de aves, de cuadrúpedos y de reptiles.

El ser humano, fue cambiando voluntariamente su naturaleza, sigue esta carta en el capítulo uno diciendo que; “²⁴ Dios los entregó a la inmundicia, en las concupiscencias de sus corazones, de modo que deshonraron entre sí sus propios cuerpos, ²⁵ ya que cambiaron la verdad de Dios por la mentira, honrando y dando culto a las criaturas antes que al Creador, el cual es bendito por los siglos”

Al decir aquí que Dios “los entregó” no significa que Dios los indujo, si no que “Dios los dejó a voluntad de ellos” que siguieran sus caminos de perversión entregándolos a la misma perdición de ellos.

En la biblia encontramos casos claros de perversión los cuales se describen en nuestras mentes cuando escuchamos los nombres de “Sodoma y Gomorra” ciudades que fueron quemadas con fuego y azufre que cayó del cielo;

Génesis Cap. 19

“²⁴ Entonces Jehová hizo llover sobre Sodoma y sobre Gomorra azufre y fuego de parte de Jehová desde los cielos; ²⁵ y destruyó las ciudades, y toda aquella llanura, con todos los moradores de aquellas ciudades, y el fruto de la tierra”

Todo esto como producto del desvarió de la mente del ser humano. Así encontramos la perversión de los hombres de estas ciudades, perversión que los llevó a la misma destrucción, historia de, hasta donde el corazón de ellos se había pervertido;

Veamos como la escritura nos cuenta de esta perversión: (los paréntesis en este texto son del autor)

Génesis 19:

“ ⁴ Pero antes que se acostasen, rodearon la casa los hombres de la ciudad, los varones de Sodoma, todo el pueblo junto, desde el más joven hasta el más viejo.  ⁵ Y llamaron a Lot, y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron a ti esta noche? Sácalos, para que los conozcamos (sexualmente).  ⁶ Entonces Lot salió a ellos a la puerta, y cerró la puerta tras sí, ⁷ y dijo: Os ruego, hermanos míos, que no hagáis tal maldad (de abusarlos). ⁸ He aquí ahora yo tengo dos hijas que no han conocido varón (son vírgenes); os las sacaré fuera, y haced de ellas como bien os pareciere; solamente que a estos varones no hagáis nada, pues que vinieron a la sombra de mi tejado. ⁹ Y ellos respondieron: Quita allá; y añadieron: Vino este extraño para habitar entre nosotros, ¿y habrá de erigirse en juez? Ahora te haremos más mal que a ellos (amenaza de abusarle). Y hacían gran violencia al varón, a Lot, y se acercaron para romper la puerta. ¹⁰ Entonces los varones alargaron la mano, y metieron a Lot en casa con ellos, y cerraron la puerta. ¹¹ Y a los hombres que estaban a la puerta de la casa hirieron con ceguera desde el menor hasta el mayor, de manera que se fatigaban buscando la puerta”

Los moradores de Sodoma y Gomorra habían llegado al extremo de ya no encontrar satisfacción en sus mismas mujeres y es concebible que las mujeres también habían caído en el mismo error.

Romanos 1;

“²⁶ Por esto Dios los entregó a pasiones vergonzosas; pues aun sus mujeres cambiaron el uso natural por el que es contra naturaleza, ²⁷ y de igual modo también los hombres, dejando el uso natural de la mujer, se encendieron en su lascivia unos con otros, cometiendo hechos vergonzosos hombres con hombres, y recibiendo en sí mismos la retribución debida a su extravío”

 Al decir la escritura que Dios los entregó debemos entender que "Dios los abandonó” (como ya lo dije) en sus propios desvaríos" Pues Dios no fuerza a nadie, sino que cada quien vive y toma el camino que quiere tomar, ¡Dios está libre de esta culpa!  

¿Hacia dónde vamos?

Con mucha tristeza he recibido la noticia que el actual presidente Barack Obama ha declarado que apoya el matrimonio gay un movimiento mas para fortalecer los lazos del enemigo que quiere destruir los valores fundamentales de la familia. Me sorprendo y no me sorprendo con esta nueva noticia, y bueno aquí les explico:

-Me sorprende;

Que un presidente con tal influencia en el mundo realice tal declaración.

-No me sorprende;

 Porque ya las sagradas escrituras me han advertido de tales acontecimientos y ellas lo resumen diciendo ¡como en los días de Noé!

Ante todo asevero que;

 
"Dios está libre de los desvaríos del hombre"

Todos los Caminos van a Dios

Ha escuchado decir que “Todos los caminos van a Dios” Una frase muy cierta ¿no es verdad?

Esta frase ha sido diseñada para aseverar que todas las religiones llevan al ser humano a la presencia de Dios, y hoy me atrevo a decir que es una frase muy bien acertada pues “todos los caminos” llevan hacia Dios… Con el escrito de hoy vamos a estudiar esta verdad.

Religión;

En el mundo existen muchas religiones las cuales ofrecen al ser humano llevarle a la presencia de Dios, pero’ ¿Qué es religión? Religión; viene de la palabra latina religio viene del verbo religare  que significa: re = de nuevo y ligare = ligar o amarrar. Bajo este significado; entonces religión toma el significado de “unir o atar nuevamente’ algo que se había soltado.

El papel de la religión;

De acuerdo a lo explicado anteriormente ‘la religión’ ha desarrollado el papel implícito “de tratar de unir al hombre con Dios” una unión que fue rota a causa del pecado de la desobediencia. La religión ofrece al hombre llevarle de regreso a Dios pero impone una cantidad normas y rituales que la persona debe someterse y cumplir para llegar a Dios.

El esfuerzo humano;

Como resultado de esto, en la religión el hombre es él quien se esfuerza para llegar a Dios por medio de someterse y cumplir normas, preceptos y ordenanzas que la religión le ha impuesto, Es decir es por medio de un esfuerzo propio.

 Las Religiones del mundo;

Al preguntarnos ¿Cuántas religiones hay en el mundo? De seguro que viene a nuestra mente una cantidad de nombres. Nombres de religiones con las que de alguna manera hemos llegado a conocer o saber de ellas, pero la realidad es que no hay un número exacto de religiones en el mundo pues aparte de las que podemos mencionar como mayoritarias, las religiones del mundo cada día nacen y se extienden mas. La verdad, no hay existe un numero que pueda darnos una cifra exacta.

De acuerdo a “World Christian Encyclopedia” existen 19 religiones mayoritarias, subdivididas en 270 grupos religiosos y muchos otros pequeños. Dentro del cristianismo se dice que hay 34,000 diferentes grupos (1*). 

El hombre y su religión;

Es también interesante mencionar que el ser humano por naturaleza quiere llegar a Dios y este crea su propia religión individual para tratar de llegar a Dios; ‘Si soy bueno y si no haga maldad entonces llegare a Dios’ es el pensamiento religioso humano pero ignoran voluntariamente que estos son solo esfuerzos personales para llegar a Dios.

¡Todos los caminos van a Dios!;

Si, es una frase que puedo aseverar como verdadera pues no importa cuál religión ó que esfuerzos el hombre en su propia opinión haga, siempre llegará a Dios. ¿Confundido? Bueno, siga leyendo este escrito.

Esta es una Verdad Bíblica;

Fue Dios mismo quien estableció esta gran verdad de que todo hombre llegará ante su presencia. Veamos algunos datos Bíblicos:

Hebreos 9: 27;

“Y de la manera que está establecido para los hombres que mueran una sola vez, y después de esto el juicio”

Apocalipsis 20:

^“11 Y vi un gran trono blanco y al que estaba sentado en él,… ¹² y vi a los muertos, grandes y pequeños, de pie ante Dios; y los libros fueron abiertos, y otro libro fue abierto, el cual es el libro de la vida; y fueron juzgados los muertos por las cosas que estaban escritas en los libros, según sus obras”

San Mateo 12:

^“36 Mas os digo que de toda palabra ociosa que hablen los hombres, de ella darán cuanta en el día del juicio”

Hechos 17:

³⁰ Pero Dios, habiendo pasado por alto los tiempos de esta ignorancia, ahora manda a todos los hombres en todo lugar, que se arrepientan; ³¹ por cuanto ha establecido un día en el cual juzgara a; mundo con justicia”

Estos son solo algunos de los textos que nos muestran con claridad que todo ser humano sin excepción de alguno, se presentará delante de Dios, es decir “todo ser humano llega a la presencia de Dios” por lo que puedo ahora una vez más afirmar que la frase ‘todos los caminos van a Dios’ es cierta. No importa tu religión, tus caminos, tus esfuerzos y todo lo que quieras hacer; pues finalmente llegaras a la presencia de Dios.

El juicio de Dios;

El destino final del hombre que llega a Dios es este; presentarse para el juicio de Dios, sin embargo debo mencionar que el hecho de llegar bajo estas condiciones a la presencia de Dios no significa que el hombre es salvo de la ira de Dios, pues todo hombre que se presente delante de Dios será juzgado por Dios mismo y en este juicio “no hay perdón ni salvación”.

Condenación eterna;

Todo hombre que se presente delante de Dios, será juzgado y luego lanzado al lago que arde con fuego y azufre para vivir allí una eternidad con Satanás sufriendo las llamas del infierno. Así se cumple a cabalidad la frase inicial de “todos los caminos llegan hacia Dios” ó dicho en otras palabras; todas las religiones llevan al hombre hasta Dios.

Todos los caminos llevan hacia Dios, pero no todos llevan al cielo;

Esta es la realidad que todo ser humano enfrenta, mientras estamos aquí en la tierra se nos presentan dos caminos, el camino ancho y el camino angosto, y de que todos los caminos llevan a Dios es una reflexión del camino ancho de la vida. Hay solo dos caminos y cada ser humano elige voluntariamente cual quiere tomar, el que llega a Dios para juicio y condenación ó el que lleva hasta el cielo para salvación y vida eterna.

El Camino angosto-camino al cielo;

Para comprender muy bien la verdad de los dos caminos ahora miraremos algunos textos bíblicos que nos muestran esta verdad. San Juan 14: “⁶ Jesús dijo: Yo Soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, si no por mi”

A través de esta declaración de Cristo Jesús vemos claramente que él se muestra como el verdadero camino que lleva a la vida eterna. Jesucristo no es una religión si no que es el camino al reino de los cielos. Ningún líder religioso de ninguna religión existente en el mundo declaro ser el camino al reino de Dios, solo Jesús tuvo la autoridad y el poder de hacerlo y confirmarlo con hechos ya que sus palabras fueron selladas por el ministerio que tomo sobre sí mismo de morir en una cruz y resucitar de entre los muertos.

Los del Camino;

Desde los primeros días del cristianismo, es decir después de la ascensión de Cristo (entiéndase por cristianismo a los seguidores de Cristo) Jesús mismo no se declaro ser una religión si no que se concreto a la predicación del mensaje de salvación y vida eterna presentándose él con su propia sangre como “el camino”. La historia nos muestra que debido a la predicación de los discípulos los seguidores de Jesús se iban aumentando más cada día.

Interesante es notar que a este grupo de seguidores se les identificaba como “los del Camino” ya que no se les podían identificar bajo el nombre de ninguna religión.

El libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles Cap. 9: nos dice que;

“ ¹ Saulo, respirando aún amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al sumo sacerdote, ² y le pidió cartas para las sinagogas de Damasco, a fin de que si hallase algunos hombres o mujeres de este Camino, los trajese presos a Jerusalén.” Así, pues se conocía.

¿Cuál es tu camino?

Espero que hasta este momento Dios haya ya puesto con toda claridad en tu corazón que para llegar al reino de los cielos solo hay “un camino” y por supuesto es el momento de la pregunta final ¿en cuál camino vas tú? Si encuentras dificultad para responder a esta pregunta, permíteme ayudarte, responde a las siguientes preguntas:

1-      Si mueres hoy, ¿A dónde irías? Al cielo ó al infierno?

2-      ¿Eres Salvo de la ira de Dios?
3-      Crees tú que eres tan bueno como para que Dios te permita entrar a su reino?
4-      ¿Tienes una religión?
5-      ¿Te lleva tu religión al reino de los cielos?

Bueno, estas son preguntas que solo se aplican para aquellos que están en el camino ancho que lleva a la perdición pues para los del camino angosto que es Jesucristo sabemos que;

1-      Al morir vamos al cielo.

       -Porque todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierde más tiene vida eterna.
2-      Somos salvos de la ira de Dios por medio de la sangre de Cristo.
      -Porque la sangre de Jesucristo nos limpia de todo pecado.
3-      Nuestras obras no son meritorias para reclamar entrada al reino de Dios, pues es por fe en Cristo.
      -Pues por fe y no por obras, para nadie se glorié.
4-      No, no tenemos una religión, vamos en el camino.
     -Jesús es el camino.
5-      Ninguna religión nos puede llevar al reino de los cielos.

Ahora, si quieres entrar al camino, aquí está la forma;

Entrega tu vida  a Jesucristo recibiéndole como tu Señor y Salvador personal y recibirás perdón de pecados y vida eterna.

Ora así;

Señor Jesús,

Senator Bob Brown, leader of the Green's party has resign as a leader of the his party and later by end of June 2012 will resign as a parliamentary senator retiring from politics to spend more time with his long term partner Paul Thomas.

Mr Brown, has led the party since its inception in 1992 and is Australia's first openly gay federal legislator (http://www.telegraph.co.uk)

With this news we the supporters of marriage between a man and a woman should still be supporting the long legacy of the marriage institution in our country and opposing to the changes  of our current legislation as Mr Brown is leaving politics with the support and submission to the senate on the legislation of same sex marriage.

El Senador Bob Brown, líder del partido Greens (Verdes) ha renunciado a ser el líder del partido and para el fin de Junio 2012 renunciará a ser Senador del Parlamento, retirándose de la política para pasar más tiempo con compañero de largo tiempo Paul Thomas.

El Señor Brown, deja el partido que inicio en 1992 y es el primer declarado "gay" legislador  de Australia.

Con esta noticia los que apoyamos el matrimonio entre el hombre y la mujer debemos continuar apoyando la larga institución del Matrimonio en nuestro país oponiéndonos a el cambio de la actual legislación ya que el Sr Brown se retira de la política apoyando y pidiendo al senado la aprobación del matrimonio del mismo sexo.
