An insight on Romans 10:9 and the sinner’s prayer

-A response to Paul Washer-

My friends, here I am coming again with another of my writings aimed, to teach, instruct, equip and evangelize in today’s world with the values ​​of sound doctrine. The issue that I am addressing today is in order to respond to a doctrinal current that it is damaging and hurting God’s people. So it deserves attention and I am on the need to instruct the church.

I am certainly referring to the doctrine that is being preached by the itinerary American preacher Paul David Washer, whom identify himself as a member of ‘The Southern Baptist’ organization and also represents the organization ‘HeartCryMissionary Society’. Paul, preaches against the sinner’s prayer and screams to people telling them that they have been deceived and calls all preachers liars for inviting people to pray to received Christ by praying such prayer. At the same time Paul argues that the sinner’s prayer is the product of misinterpretation of Romans 10:9.-

Explaining the prayer to accept Christ;   

When a person decided to received Jesus Christ a Lord and Saviour, he makes a small pray of faith. This is what we called ‘the sinners prayer’. Here is an example:

“Lord Jesus, in this very moment I came before you, I recognize that I am a sinner and that I have lived far from you, please forgive me. Today I repent of all my sins and I ask for your forgiveness. Jesus, I open my heart for you, please come, I received you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross of Calvary taking the place that was for me. Thank God for giving your son as a sacrifice to save me. In Jesus name I prayed, amen!”

I ask you: Would there be any wrong with this prayer? Well, for Paul Washer this is a prayer to deceive people. God rebuke you Paul! Let me know from where Paul and his followers have taken such wrong doctrine.

Paul, have thought his followers that this prayer was created or made popular by Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875), a Presbyterian preacher. Also they hold that the ‘altar call’ which is the moment when a preacher invites people to come to the front of the altar in order to prayer to received Jesus it’s a practice which only aims to bring multitudes to grow churches.

It is important for me, to clarify that when a people is invited to received Christ, the person recognises that he is a sinner and ask God for forgiveness and under such repentance he invite Jesus to be his Lord and Saviour. I have seen and I am sure that thousands and thousands of people have come to Jesus with a true heart and many have even cry when they encounter Jesus.  It is also imperative to mention that Christianity has grown up in the world thanks to that prayer. Paul also arguments, that there is not such prayer in the bible that indicates such practice. Nor Jesus taught people to pray to accept him.

 A response to Paul Washer:

We, pastor and preachers first we preached and we explain to people through a message, weather through a sermon or one to one, over the need to give their lives to God thought Christ. We explain then what are sin and its consequences of condemnation. We also explain that through Christ there is forgiveness granted by faith. With those words we believed that the Holy Spirit is the one who convince people and brings them to a conviction that they need to put their life right with God. Is here when the moment comes in which people pray to God the ‘sinners’ prayer’ asking God for forgiveness and accepting Christ as they saviour. What Paul Washer voluntarily ignores is that when those people have prayed is God who ears and answers them. Is God the one who cleanses them from all sins. It is God who gives them the Holy Spirit who comes to live in them. It is God who makes them new creatures. It is God who starts in them the way into holiness.  I said to Paul Washer that is not him who decides who is a new born creature.

 Prayer is also a biblical practice:

The scriptures itself instructs us to pray to God, here are some verses;

 Jeremiah 33: ^“3Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”

2 Chronicles 7: ^“15 now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place”

Nehemiah 1:
“⁵ Then I said: “Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, ⁶ let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. ⁷ We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses. ⁸Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, ⁹ but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name” ---- It’s a very good example of the sinners’ prayer, Isn’t it?

Now, confessions of sins and the declaration of repentance are biblical:

As I am responding to Paul, Here we have more biblical examples that clearly shows us that the confession of sin has to be made through prayer; again I call this; “the sinners’ prayer’:

1 John 1: “⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”
Romans 10: ^“9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”.

To receive Cristo is Biblical;

As the Scriptures say it is biblical and correct to accept Christ. Revelations 3: “²⁰ Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” This action of to let Jesus to come brings with it the gift of The Holy Spirit which is given by God into the heart of people.

1 Corinthians 3: “¹⁶ don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (Other versions say he is in you). Adding to this Jesus himself is in the Spirit that dwells in us. 

Mathew 28: “²⁰ and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ‘The End of The World’ has not yet come, so Christ is still dwelling in us. 

Now, ¿Why Christ never invited people to pray to receive him as Saviour?

Certainly, Jesus never openly says “received me” but he never denied that he is the saviour. What Paul Washer voluntarily ignores (even thou he claims to be a bible scholar), that the Bible says:

John 1: ¹² yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” And this is an open declaration over the need to receive Christ, and in what other form he can be received if not through the sinner’s prayer? 

Mark 2: “¹⁸ now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, “How is it that John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not? ¹⁹ Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.”  This is another reference that shows that while he was on earth he came to preach God’s salvation. If the people did listen his message and accept or received him and the son of God, The Messiah; their sins were immediately forgotten and became save therefore they were spare of the eternal judgement. All those were saved because Jesus ‘came to seek and to save the lost’ (Luke 19:10). John the Baptist also declares that; “He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1: 29).- Whoever, no one can be forgiven if there is not ‘repentance and confession.’

Now, let me talk about repentance;
Paul Washer, teaches that we should not call to people to received Jesus through the prayer but instead we should call them to repentance. Mr Washer, let me tell you that repentance without confession does not work. You can be repented of your sins but if you don’t confess your guilt to God… you can not be saved! You can be preaching and calling people to ‘repentance’, and then you need to be careful because you can leave in the way of repentance but if there was not confession of sins then there will be not forgiveness. I ask you; from where you taking “your” gospel?

As question to Paul Washer and his followers;
I am asking you guys:
-How many Christian people we have in nowadays of those who have confessed Christ as Lord and Saviour by mean of the sinner’s pray?
-How many Christian would then be in nowadays if those people did not prayer?
Please think: Don’t you think that your teachings aim only to kill Christianity?

One more insight on the sinners’ Prayer:
As I have mentioned, Paul Washer teaches and credited that this prayer was an invention of Charles Finney. Well, this preacher did not invent this prayer, but instead he was illuminated over the need to bring people to the Kingdom of God.  It is a biblical act to bring people to the Kingdom of God! The gospel of Luke 14: “²¹ the servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ ²² ‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ ²³ Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. ²⁴ I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’ ---To this also add that Finney perfectly understood the meaning of Romans 10:9.- Jesus said; “so that my house be full”. Why the Paul Washer get upset because of the work to bring people to the house of God?

Explaining Romans 10: 9;
I am now coming back to the explanation of this verse as this is the reason of this writing. For Paul Washer we should not invite people to pray to receive Jesus. I want to emphasise that Paul is wrong with his interpretation. Let’s see the verse:
Romans 10: “⁹ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The wrong Interpretation of Paul;
For Paul Washer Romans 10:9 this verse is being interpreted as follows: It is a reference of the persecution of the Christians in Rome. Washer teaches that in that time if a person confesses that “Christ is Lord” they were beheaded. This is the wrong interpretation of Paul Washer.    

Explaining the text; this verse does not make any reference about “beheading” the believers. Instead it teaches “If the person confesses Christ as Lord will be saved.” Let’s see now something about the life of the apostle Paul and the circumstances in which the verse was written such; conversion, time, geography and to whom the Romans letter was written for.

Conversion of Saul / Paul:
Paul was converted to Christ around the year 33 DC. The first three years he was a persecutor of the believers. Saul asks permission from the priests to capture and to bring them back to Jerusalem. This is his story:

Acts 9:
“¹ Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest ² and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. ³ As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. ⁴ He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? ⁵ Who are you, Lord? Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. ⁶ “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. ⁷ The men travelling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. ⁸ Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. ⁹ For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything”

This letter was originally addressed to the believers who resided in Rome and it became and universal letter reaching believers until our time. Romans was written about the year 58 AC. And that includes the know chapter 9: verse 10, even thou the originals did not contain chapter or verses. Hence;

The Fire in the Roman city;
As Paul Washer, has over looked the history I want to correct him by explain that the fire that consumes Rome was in the year 64 AC and Nero the emperor started a persecution of the believers of the Christians who were capture, torture and killed. It is believed that Nero was the perpetuator of the fire in a political move of to rebuild the city. As and excuse to protect his reign he blamed the Christians to be the ones who put fire to the city. 10 of the 14 states were burn down.

Romans, has nothing to do with the persecution lead by Nero;
I want to make an emphasis that the letter written by Paul has no relation at all with the persecution. This letter was written in the year 58 and the great fire happened on the year 64 AC. The letter contains a message of love and forgiveness for those who confess Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  The Apostle wrote in; Romans 10: “⁹ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. ¹¹ As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”  As the letter was written before the great fire, Paul did related his writing with something that happens after.- So, Paul Washer is mixing two events that are not being related to each other. They are two different concepts!
-I am asking to Paul Washer to correct his heresy and to correct his wrong teachings, also I ask Paul to start to make the invitation to people to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour If you are a true preacher. Please Paul, do no seek fame through error, we already have many false prophets and false teacher,… pr are you one of them?

Coming to conclusion;
Due that this is a brief study and not a book writing, I need now to come down with the end of this writing. I found that the message preached by Paul Washer, does not represent the biblical reality, he condemns to those who have received Christ as Lord and Saviour through prayer “The Sinners’ Prayer” which is a repentance and confession accordingly with Romans 10:9. It is important to address to those who have received have done it under the following circumstances:

First: The message of salvation has been preached.
Second: Once the message has been preached, if the work of the Holy Spirit who brings the person under repentance.
Third: Once repentance has come to their hearts, we invite people to ask God for forgiveness by mean of the prayer and accepting the salvation of Christ.
Fourth: It is God whom determines grants the forgiveness and salvation of the person, not Paul Washer!
Fifth: Once the person is converted, this is the first step to get into the kingdom of God.
Sixth: Once the person has entered into the kingdom of God, the sanctification process starts. This means that person is now saved by the grace of Christ and the process of changes has commenced to be better believers. Some change much quick than others.
Seventh: The battle of the Christian is between the flesh and the spirit, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, the flesh looses its desires and the spirit life grows.
Eight: Sanctification is the goal of all believers and it is God who sanctifies the person with the blood of Christ as soon the person is been converted to Christ, but the journey to perfection last the whole life.

A call to God’s people;
People, I’m making a call to you to not to doubt to the gift of salvation you have received from God on the day you received Christ. We the Christians love god and hate sin. I call to my colleagues; pastors, leaders and evangelist to avoid exposing believer to confusion such the one here explained. Please continuo inviting people to received Christ.

A call to the Southern Baptist Association;
In the name of Jesus Christ I am calling to the boards of the Southern Baptist Churches of America to pronounce and response to these questions:
-Do you hold, believe and accept the teaching of Paul Washer? Please answer!
-To all churches in the world, pastors and all believers witching the Southern Baptist I call you to think that more than the 80% of believers within your churches are the product of conversion of people through the sinners’ prayer as in Romans 10:9, and the remaining 20% is being made by those believers who have grown up from Christians homes. If we stop inviting people to accept Christ as suggested by Paul Washer, what would be the church today and what would be the feature of the church? Hum! We will be killing the church. Isn’t it?

Coming to conclusion:

Hoping that these notes have come constructively and not destructive, I want to leave my position on Paul Washer’s teachings:

 

a-      Paul does not permit that people accept Christ.

b-      Paul, stops the grow of the church, which is the body of Christ.

c-       Paul offends, discourages and confuses people.

d-      Paul is retarding the second coming of Christ, why? Because of the believers don’t multiply will be more difficult to reach the world. Christ said; Mathew 24 “¹⁴ and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”.

e-      Over Paul Washer, will rest the responsibility before God of those souls who will accept Christ as Lord and Saviour.

 

Finally;

If you have lived separated from God and The Holy Spirit has spoken through this writing; I want to invite you to accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the way Romans 10: “⁹ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”.

 Pray to God like this:

Lord Jesus, Today I take the decision to come to you now. I recognize that I am a sinner, please forgive me. Thank Jesus for dying on the cross of Calvary in order to pay the price of my salvation. Jesus I now open my heart for you, please come to my life and be my Lord and Saviour. In your name, amen!

Una Explicación sobre Romanos 10:9 y La Oración del Pecador.

Mis hermanos y amigos, aquí estoy una vez más llegando a ustedes con otro de mis escritos cuyo objetivo es; enseñar, instruir, equipar y evangelizar en el mundo hoy con los valores de la sana doctrina. El tema que hoy estoy abordando es para responder una corriente doctrinal que está dañando al pueblo de Dios por lo que amerita darle atención y me veo en la necesidad de instruir al pueblo cristiano.

Hoy me estoy refiriendo a la doctrina que esta predicando el predicador itinerario americano Paul David Washer, quien se identifica como “miembro” de los Bautistas del Sur (The Southern Baptist) en América y representa la organización HeartCry Missionary Society. Este predica en contra de la oración del pecador y le grita a la gente diciéndoles que han sido engañados y nos llama al resto de ministros mentirosos por invitar al pecador a recibir a Cristo por medio de la oración.

Paul Washer, se opone a que los ministros y evangelistas del evangelio hagamos la invitación para que las almas acepten a Cristo por medio de una oración la que muchos conocemos como; “la oración del pecador”. A la misma vez este atribuye a que esta oración es producto de la mala interpretación de las escrituras, especialmente en lo referente a Romanos 10:9.

La Oración para aceptar a Cristo:

Cuando una persona recibe a Cristo como Señor y Salvador realiza una pequeña oración de fe. A continuación un ejemplo de esa oración:

“Señor Jesús, En este momento vengo delante de ti, reconociendo que soy un pecador y que he vivido lejos de ti, perdóname. Hoy me arrepiento de todos mis pecados y te pido perdón. Hoy abro mi corazón y te invito a que vengas a mi vida, te recibo como mi Señor y Salvador personal. También te  doy las gracias por venir a morir en la cruz del calvario tomando el lugar que a mí me correspondía. Gracias Jesús por salvar mi alma hoy, En tu nombre ¡amén!”

Pregunto; ¿habrá algo de malo con esta oración? Bueno, para Paul Washer esta oración es el engaño al pueblo de Dios. Veamos ahora el concepto sobre el cual este predicador y ahora mus seguidores se apoyan para sostener sus herejías:

Ellos adjudican que esta oración fue creada y/o popularizada por Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875), un predicador presbiteriano. También sostienen que el llamado al altar (en inglés; The Altar Call) para recibir a Cristo a venido a ser una práctica que alcanza hasta nuestros días cuyo objetivo principal es el de atraer multitudes para el crecimiento de las iglesias”.

Importante es resaltar el hecho de que para recibir a Cristo como Señor y Salvador personalmente la persona clama a Dios, reconoce sus pecado, pide perdón y arrepentido invita a Cristo Jesús a ser su Señor y salvador, amén! Seguro estoy que usted mi amado/a es cristiano/a como el producto de esa pequeña oración que un día dijo desde lo más profundo de su corazón y en una gran mayoría de veces esta es acompañada con lagrimas que corren por las mejías. También es importante resaltar que el cristianismo en todo el mundo ha crecido gracias al evangelismo, la predicación y la invitación a las almas de aceptar a Cristo Jesús. Si usted es una de las personas nacidas de nuevo. Para Washer, usted ha sido engañado al recibir a Cristo Jesús de esta manera y por consiguiente ‘le grita que usted no es un cristiano.’ Washer, argumenta que no existe oración en la biblia que indique tal práctica e indica que Jesús mismo nunca predico diciendo que hicieran una oración o que le invitaran a entrar en el corazón de las personas.

Respondiendo a Paul Washer;

Los pastores y evangelistas primero predicamos de Cristo, explicamos a la gente a través del mensaje, la consejería ó del evangelismo de uno a uno;  sobre la necesidad de entregar la vida a Dios por medio de Cristo. Se le explica lo que es el pecado y la condenación. Se les explica que si reciben a Cristo hay perdón de pecados y si lo rechazan existe la condenación eterna. Con estas palabras creemos fielmente que es El Espíritu Santo quien continua la obra de convencer a la persona y la lleva en ese momento a un arrepentimiento de sus pecados y de vivir lejos de Dios. Es aquí donde luego pasamos en invitar a estos a que con sus propios labios y con la sinceridad del corazón pidan por medio de ‘la oración del pecador’ perdón a Dios he inviten a Cristo a venir a su corazón o a su vida.

Lo que el Sr. Washer ignora ó no toma en cuenta, es que cuando estas personas han hecho esa pequeña oración ha sido dicha a Dios quien la recibe y la toma en cuenta. Dios borra los pecados de esa persona, la recibe como hijo/a e inmediatamente coloca su Espíritu Santo en el nuevo creyente el cual ahora es identificado como una nueva criatura que le pertenece a Dios. Ciertamente que comienza una nueva vida la cual va en crecimiento hacia la santidad la cual es progresiva…. Digo al Sr. Waher que él no es Dios para declarar que esta persona no es nacida de nuevo.

Orar a Dios es bíblico:

Las escrituras mismas nos instruyen a que orar a Dios es correcto, aquí unos ejemplos:

Jeremías 33: 3 “clama a mí y yo te responderé”

2 Crónicas 7: 15 “Ahora mis ojos estarán abiertos y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar”

Nehemías 1: “⁵ Le dije: «Señor, Dios del cielo, grande y temible, que cumples el pacto y eres fiel con los que te aman y obedecen tus mandamientos, ⁶ te suplico que me prestes atención, que fijes tus ojos en este siervo tuyo que día y noche ora en favor de tu pueblo Israel. Confieso que los israelitas, entre los cuales estamos incluidos mi familia y yo, hemos pecado contra ti. ⁷ Te hemos ofendido y nos hemos corrompido mucho; hemos desobedecido los mandamientos, preceptos y decretos que tú mismo diste a tu siervo Moisés. ⁸ »Recuerda, te suplico, lo que le dijiste a tu siervo Moisés: “Si ustedes pecan, yo los dispersaré entre las naciones: ⁹ pero si se vuelven a mí, y obedecen y ponen en práctica mis mandamientos, aunque hayan sido llevados al lugar más apartado del mundo los recogeré y los haré volver al lugar donde he decidido habitar.” –Esta es un ejemplo de la oración del pecador--- ¿no les parece?

La confesión de pecados y la declaración de arrepentimiento son bíblicas:

Como estoy respondiendo a Paul, aquí tenemos más ejemplos bíblicos que nos muestran claramente que la confesión de pecados es correcta a través de la oración, ‘la oración del pecador’:

1 Juan 1: “⁹ Si confesamos nuestros pecados, él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados, y limpiarnos de toda maldad”

Romanos 10: 9 ⁹ que si confiesas con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y crees en tu corazón que Dios lo levantó de entre los muertos, serás salvo.

Recibir a Cristo es bíblico:

Aceptar a Cristo es bíblico. Apocalipsis 3: dice “9…se pues, celoso, y arrepiéntete. ²⁰ He aquí, yo estoy a la puerta y llamo; si alguno oye mi voz y abre la puerta, entraré a él, y cenaré con él, y él conmigo”. Esta acción de recibir a Cristo trae consigo el regalo de Dios de colocar su Santo Espíritu en nuestro corazón;

1 Corintios 3: 16 ¿No sabéis que sois templo de Dios, y que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros? 

Permítame agregar que es Jesús mismo en El Espíritu el que está en mostros, él dijo; en

San Mateo 28: “²⁰ He aquí yo estoy con vosotros hasta el fin del mundo.” El fin del mundo aún no ha llegado per él está en nosotros los cristianos.

Respondiendo a ¿Por qué Cristo nunca invito a las personas a que oraran para recibirle como Salvador?

Ciertamente Jesús no predico diciendo abiertamente “recíbanme” como salvador per nunca negó que el es el salvador. Lo que Señor Washer, ignora voluntariamente (aunque dice que estudia la palabra) que las escrituras dicen:

San Juan 1:”¹² Mas a todos los que le recibieron, a los que creen en su nombre, les dio potestad de ser hechos hijos de Dios”

Esta es una referencia abierta sobre la necesidad de recibir a Cristo, y ¿de que otra forma se puede recibir sino a través de la oración del pecador arrepentido? 

San Marcos 2: “¹⁸ Y los discípulos de Juan y los de los fariseos ayunaban; y vinieron, y le dijeron: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los de los fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no ayunan?  ¹⁹ Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden los que están de bodas ayunar mientras está con ellos el esposo? Entre tanto que tienen consigo al esposo, no pueden ayunar. ²⁰ Pero vendrán días cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces en aquellos días ayunarán”.
Este pasaje es una abierta referencia a que él mismo estaba a presente en la tierra para predicar la salvación de Dios, si la gente lo reconocía como El Hijo de Dios, Mesías y Salvador del mundo entonces eran perdonados y salvos del castigo y del juicio eterno. Todos aquellos que creyeron en él fueron salvos, pues dijo que ‘vino a buscar y a salvar lo que se había perdido’ (Lucas 19:10). Juan el bautista declaró que Jesús es el cordero de Dios que quita los pecados del mundo (San Juan 1: 29), pero a nadie se los quita si no hay ‘arrepentimiento y confesión’.

Hablemos ahora de El Arrepentimiento;

Paul Washer, dice que a la gente no debe llamarse a aceptar a Cristo con una oración sino que deben ser llamadas al arrepentimiento. Señor Washer, déjeme decirle que el arrepentimiento sin confesión no funciona. Usted mismo puede estar arrepentido de sus pecados pero si no los confiesa a Dios, usted mismo puede que no sea salvo. Usted puede estar predicando y llamando al pecador al ‘arrepentimiento’ pero de esa misma manera ‘los deja en el camino de arrepentidos’ pero no perdonados por la falta de confesión a Dios. ¿De dónde entonces saca usted este evangelio?

Señor Washer y sus seguidores;

Podrían responderme estas preguntas:

¿Cuántos cristianos hay en el mundo hoy en día por haber confesado a Cristo como salvador por medio de la oración? ¿Cuántos cristianos hubiera en el mundo si no se hace la oración de fe? ¡No le parece que sus acciones son solo para matar el cristianismo!

Otro vistazo a La Oración del Pecador;

Ya he dicho anteriormente que esta oración se le adjudica como invento a Charles Finney. Bueno, este predicador no invento la oración (lamentablemente no estuve presente en su ministerio) pero creo fielmente que el comprendió por iluminación la necesidad de traer gente al reino de Dios y a los pies de Cristo al haber entendido esta revelación; San Lucas 14: “²¹ Vuelto el siervo, hizo saber estas cosas a su señor. Entonces enojado el padre de familia, dijo a su siervo: Ve pronto por las plazas y las calles de la ciudad, y trae acá a los pobres, los mancos, los cojos y los ciegos. ²² Y dijo el siervo: Señor, se ha hecho como mandaste, y aún hay lugar. ²³ Dijo el señor al siervo: Ve por los caminos y por los vallados, y fuérzalos a entrar, para que se llene mi casa.”A esto agregue usted que Finney comprendió a la perfección el significado de Romanos 10:9.

 ¿No dijo Jesús?; ¡Que se llene mi casa! ¿Por qué entonces se enoja por el trabajo de llenar la casa de Dio Cuando son almas que vienen al camino de la salvación?

La interpretación errónea de Romanos 10: 9;

Vuelvo a mencionar que esta doctrina que estamos estudiando sobre ‘no hacer la oración para recibir a Cristo’ nace como una explicación “errónea” de Paul Washer. Veamos primero el texto: “⁹ que si confesares con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo”

 Aclaración de Interpretación del texto:

El texto no hace referencia a “cortar la cabeza” sino que hace referencia enfática a salvación; dice “Serás Salvo”, no que te cortarán la cabeza. Profundizando mas en este texto necesitamos analizarlo alrededor del ministerio del apóstol Pablo, del tiempo en que fue escrito, el lugar geográfico donde se escribió, y para quienes se escribió. Estudiemos un poco ahora sobre la vida de Pablo y las circunstancias sobre las cuales él escribió este versículo como; La vida de Pablo, circunstancias en que escribió, tiempo, geografías y para quienes fue escrita la carta. 

Conversión de Pablo;

Tras la muerte de Cristo el año 33 se considera que Pablo se convirtió alrededor del año 36, ó sea que durante los 3 años primeros antes de su conversión este se dedicaba a perseguir a los cristianos lo cual lo sabemos porque él fue y pidió carta a los sacerdotes para capturar a los seguidores de Jesús y traerlos presos a Jerusalén.

 Acts 9:

“¹ Saulo, respirando aún amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al sumo sacerdote, ² y le pidió cartas para las sinagogas de Damasco, a fin de que si hallase algunos hombres o mujeres de este Camino, los trajese presos a Jerusalén.” Debemos recordar que durante esta persecución Saulo fue reprendido por el mismo Jesús para que detuviera la persecución. Romanos 9 continúa; “³ Mas yendo por el camino, aconteció que al llegar cerca de Damasco, repentinamente le rodeó un resplandor de luz del cielo; ⁴ y cayendo en tierra, oyó una voz que le decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues? ⁵ El dijo: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y le dijo: Yo soy Jesús, a quien tú persigues; dura cosa te es dar coces contra el aguijón. ⁶ El, temblando y temeroso, dijo: Señor, ¿qué quieres que yo haga? Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que debes hacer. ⁷ Y los hombres que iban con Saulo se pararon atónitos, oyendo a la verdad la voz, más sin ver a nadie.”

La escritura misma nos demuestra que desde ese momento (año 36 aproximadamente) Pablo se convierte en un discípulo y misionero de Cristo habiendo realizado largos viajes llevando el mensaje de salvación, además  escribió 14 cartas incluyendo la carta a los Romanos. Esta fue dirigida primeramente a los cristianos que residían en roma convirtiéndose a su vez and una carta universal (por eso es importante para la iglesia de hoy). Pablo se considera que nació cerca del año 10 de la era cristiana se convierte aproximadamente siendo de 26 años, es decir 3 años después de la muerte de Cristo.

La carta a Los Romanos fue escrita aproximadamente el año 58 DC como una carta evangelizadora la cual incluye el texto Romanos 10:9 (aunque en los originales no se usaban capítulos ni versículos).

 El incendio de Roma;

-Explicación para Paul Washer-

La historia nos muestra que Roma fue incendiada el año 64 DC y el emperador Nerón realizo una persecución extrema matando cristianos a los cuales se les forzaba con el método de tortura a que aceptaran haber causado el incendio de Roma. Se cree que Roma fue incendiada por orden de  Nerón y luego utilizó a los cristianos como chivos expiatorios acusándoles del causar el incendio que destruyo 10 de los 14 estados.

Romanos, Una carta que no tiene nada que ver con la persecución del emperador Nerón.

Hago en este momento un énfasis ‘claro y enfático’ que la carta a los romanos no tiene ninguna relación con la persecución de Nerón pues la carta fue escrita el año 58 DC y la persecución de Nerón comenzó el año 64 DC. La carta a los Romanos contiene un mensaje de perdón y salvación para aquellos que confiesan a Cristo como Señor y Salvador. Pablo decía Romanos 10: “¹⁰ Porque con el corazón se cree para justicia, pero con la boca se confiesa para salvación. ¹¹ Pues la Escritura dice: Todo aquel que en él creyere, no será avergonzado.” Mientras que la persecución en roma se desato para culpar a los cristianos del incendio de la ciudad. ¡Dos conceptos totalmente diferentes!

--Le pido a Paul Washer, que se ponga al día corrija sus herejías e invite a las personas a acepar a Cristo como Señor y Salvador. Por favor no busque fama con el error que ya tenemos muchos falsos maestros y profetas, ó ¿es usted uno más?

 Pre Conclusión;

Debido a que este es un breve estudio y no un libro completo, debo ya llevar este escrito a la conclusión. Encuentro que el mensaje presentado por Paul Washer, no representa la realidad bíblica, ya que este condena a  aquellos cristianos que han recibido a Cristo como salvador personal por medio de la “oración del pecador” (si la queremos llamar así) la cual está apoyada por Romanos 10:9. Es muy importante resaltar el hecho que aquellas personas que han recibido la salvación de Cristo por este medio, lo han hecho bajo las siguientes condiciones:

-Primero; Se predica el evangelio de arrepentimiento y salvación.

-Segundo; Una vez predicado, es la obra del Espíritu Santo la que trae arrepentimiento al individuo.

-Tercero; Una vez producido el arrepentimiento, se les invita a pedir perdón a Dios por medio de la oración entregando sus vidas a Cristo y recibiéndoles como Señor y Salvador.

-Cuarto; Es Dios no  Paul Washer, quien determina el perdón y salvación de cada individuo.

-Quinto; Es necesario mencionar que cada persona que se convierte, está dando su primer paso de entrar al reino de Dios.

-Sexto; Una vez las personas han entrado al reino de Dios, se inicia el proceso de la santificación (no de salvación pues ya son salvos) ó sea un cambio progresivo en cada persona. Unos crecen espiritualmente más rápido que otros.

-Séptimo; La lucha del cristiano es una lucha constante ente el espíritu y la carne pero con la ayuda de Dios y la edificación constante el espíritu crece y los deseos de la carne perecen.

-Octavo; Santificación es la meta final de todo creyente cuyo trabajo es de Dios, pues con la conversión, la sangre de Cristo “nos limpia de todo pecado”, esto significa que para Dios cada creyente es santo, mientras que el camino a la perfección dura toda la vida. 

 Un llamado al pueblo de Dios;

Iglesia amada, les hago el llamado de no dudar del regalo de la salvación que les fue otorgada por Dios el día de su conversión. Los cristianos amamos a Dios y desechamos el pecado. Pastores y lideres; eviten exponer a las ovejas a la confusión y sigamos invitando a las almas a recibir a Cristo.

Un llamado a la organización ‘Los Bautistas del Sur’ (The Souther Baptist);

-Señores directivos y representantes de la organización; Les pido que se promulguen ¿sostienen ustedes los principios doctrinales de Paul Washer? ¡Por favor respondan oficialmente!

-A los hermanos bautistas del sur y todos sus afiliados; pastores, iglesias y membrecías. Les invito a razonar que el 80% de los creyentes en sus filas son producto de esa invitación y oración realizada el día de sus conversiones tal como lo expresas Romanos 10:9, un 20% son aquellos que nacen en hogares cristianos. Si cada predicador dejar de realizar la invitación a los pecadores para recibir a Cristo, ¿Cuál sería el futuro de la iglesia? ¡Hum! ¡Nos terminamos el cristianismo!  

 A mis hermanos que dicen que contienden por la fe:

Sin contender con ellos, les invito a que no solo plasmen ataques en contra de otros ministros, sea que estén en lo correcto o no. Ese tipo de ataques solo muestra al mundo incrédulo su inmadurez y que los cristianos no podemos llevarnos bien y encima de todo eso, díganme ¿Cuántas almas han traído a los pies de Cristo con esas actitudes? Y ¿Cuántos más han endurecido sus corazones por causas de ustedes?

----les invito a que presenten sus desacuerdos doctrinales con evidencias. ¿No les parece?-----

Conclusión;

Después de estas notas que espero hayan sido edificativas y contractivas, quiero dejar mi position sobre la doctrina de Paul Washer:

a-      No permite que las almas acepten la salvación de Cristo.

b-      Impide el crecimiento de la “iglesia” la cual es el cuerpo de Cristo.

c-       Ofende, desanima y confunde a los creyentes.

d-      Retrasa la segunda venida de Cristo por su iglesia. ¿Por qué? Porque si los creyentes no se multiplican no podremos alcanzar el mundo y Cristo dijo; “Porque será predicado este mensaje en todo el mundo y entonces vendrá el fin” (Mat. 24:14)

e-      Sobre Paul Washer, recae la carga de las almas que no aceptan a Cristo porque este no les invita a recibir la salvación de Cristo.

 
Finalmente;

Si usted ha vivido separado de Dios, y el Espíritu Santo te ha hablado por este escrito, yo te invito a que recibas a Jesús como tu Señor y Salvador. Romanos 10: 9 dice; “que si confesares con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo”

 

Hazlo de esta manera;

Señor Jesús, en esta hora hago la decisión de venir a ti. Reconozco que soy pecador, perdóname. Gracias por venir a morir en la cruz del calvario para pagar el precio de mis pecados. Hoy abro mi corazón y te invito a ser mi salvador. En tu nombre te lo pido. ¡Amén!

Kevin Rudd on the issue of same sex marriage

The ex-prime minister of Australia came out of the closet; I mean he has changed his mind on the issue of same sex marriage in Australia. Kevin Rudd is currently a back bencher of the Labour Party who was dumped out by the current Prime Minister Julia Gillard.  

Australia is heading to another parliament round of votes on the issue to approve changes to the current marriage legislation, Mr Rudd has declare that he has changed his mind in support to the changes to the legislation to allow same sex marriage happen in Australia.

For some politicians,  

Mr Rudd's decision to embrace gay marriage was more to do with him winning his Brisbane seat of Griffith - which the former PM holds with a margin of 8.5 per cent. (So a few votes will come handy).
As this is another attempt to impose changes to the institution of marriage, we the people who holds the principles and values of the marriage between a man and a woman, should not just be spectator  while and small group of politicians are trying to destroy the holy marriage institution.

Marriage should be kept in Australia as the union between a man and a woman and it always should supports the right to protect our children of the rights to be rise up by a man and a woman. Changes in the legislation said another politician ‘will create another stolen generation in Australia’. I want to add to that comments that also we will create a generation of children who will be confuse about their sexual orientation.

As in the day’s of Noah;

Once again the prophecies are proven to be happening showing that the second coming of Christ is near. As in the days of Noah; they were getting marriage and being giving in marriage, eating and drinking until the great flood came and all perish having only survived Noah and his family. There is nothing wrong in getting marriage or eating and or drinking; the problem was that the generation that leave during Noah’s time was completed corrupted.  They even changed the nature given by God and went to ‘man to man and woman to woman’. That was the generation of that time!

The Two Generations;

We can see that Noah’s time, was marked by two generations; the evil and the good. The evil is the one who got corrupted and rejected God and His laws, and the good that was represented by Noah and his family, a generation that respected and holds God’s principles. We the current generation are descendants of such good generation.

It is time to think that out there are two types of generation; the good and the evil, to which one of those you belong? As it always happen, the good generation get corrupted when they depart away from God. But, we have a great God who waits patiently for the lost to come back to Him.

 
I support Marriage, and I look forward to keep the institution of marriage in the way God have created it. Let’s get together in pray and stand for what is correct!
